On Monday the Bruins saw their winning streak snapped by backup goalie Peter Budag and his Montreal teammates.  Since the game went into overtime, the Bruins still managed to gain a point in the standings.  At this point the Bruins have the second greatest amount of points in the NHL and are only one point behind league leading St. Louis.  While it's pretty obvious that the Bruins got 2 points for every game that they won during the streak, their recent accumulation of points has been pretty impressive.
  • In the month of March the Bruins have played 14 games and accumulated 25  of a possible 28 points.  The only March game they did not get a point in was against the Capitals on the first of the month.
  • In the month of February the team only played 5 games due to the Olympic Break.  During that stretch they scored in every game and had 3 wins and 2 overtime losses.
  • The last three games the Bruins didn't collect a point were all at home.  You need to flip your calendar all the way back to January 9th to find the last away game in which the Bruins were pointless.
Tonight is the second time this season the Bruins are facing their Stanley Cup opponent from last year.  Although the Bruins did lose that outing, they earned a point since the game went beyond regulation.  The teams were so evenly matched that the game was not settled until Patrick Kane scored in the shootout.

I guarantee you that Patrick Kane is not going to go home as the hero tonight!  Of course he's out with a knee injury, so I'm not really making a bold prediction there.  With Kane out of the lineup for the last couple of games, Patrick Sharp has taken over as leading point and goal scorer for Chicago.

Although the Bruins have one of the best winning percentages after trailing at the end of the first period, they need to come out strong tonight.  The Blackhawks are almost unbeatable when they head into the first intermission with the lead (88.5%).  Tuukka Rask is expected to be in net tonight for the Bruins.  With a strong outing tonight he may get is goals against average under 2.

Make sure you tune in to the game early on NESN because the Bruins are expected to have a pregame ceremony honoring the Boston Fire Department.
