With ten minutes left to the game the Bruins were down 3-2 and looked like they had their second wind. It wasn't a matter of "if " the Bruins would tie it up, it was a matter of "when". It looked like the "when" was going to be answered at the 12:07 mark after Saku Koivu went to the box for a late high sticking call against Torey Krug. Twenty-eight seconds later I wasn't feeling so good about it as Marchand got handed a weak interference penalty and the momentum swung back to the Ducks. The Ducks would eventually score their third straight power play goal of the evening to keep their home winning streak alive.
In case you didn't know the Ducks are rolling at home this season. This victory gave them their 8th straight win. They are 18-0-2 in their first 20 home games of the season. Thinking that the Bruins' sluggish second period was probably due to travel and playing at 10 EST, I looked a little closer at Anaheim's schedule. I thought maybe their good fortunes were part of a favorable schedule in which east coast teams started their west coast trips playing the Ducks. Nope, not the case, they are really just that good at home right now.
