If you've been watching the Stanley Cup you are pretty aware that the Blues have been doing some serious head hunting. Additionally, you are also aware that the referees don't seem to be doing a whole lot about it. Knowing this, I'm sure it is pretty hard to race full speed into the corner to get a puck when you know that an elbow is probably coming for your head.
Watching Monday Night's game, it was pretty apparent that the Bruins were anticipating cheap shots. In addition to not racing into the corners for loose pucks, they also seemed to have an awful lot of trouble getting their sticks on the puck in general. While hockey players know that they can't play the game with their head down, there are lots of times when you have to look down to see the puck. It is my opinion that as a collective group, the team was skittish about actually seeing the black disk once it required them to have to look down at the ice.
With today's game at home and whiny Craig Berube's complaining in the rear view mirror, I'm pretty confident the Bruins will play fearless tonight. Like all of the other odd numbered games, expect a blowout.
