- The color of the gloves is probably the most important rule and I believe the only one which is actually enforced by the NFL. Teams must submit the glove colors for their offensive lineman to the league in the offseason. Other players can wear gloves which are black, white, or a team color. Bi-color and tri-color combinations of black, white and team color are also permitted.(Yes, I'm with you on how in the world could the officials miss all those calls against the Seahawks with those bright green gloves?)
- Gloves can be as sticky as possible as long as they don't leave behind residue on the ball. (I don't recall ever seeing this checked)
- Gloves can not have adhesive substances added to them.
So, how do we get these crazy gloves out of the NFL? It's simple really. Give a few of the Patriots players some Odell Beckham specials and let the mob of Patriot haters do their thing.
