After throwing 29 pitches in the first inning who would have though Felix Doubront would have made it two thirds of the way through the seventh? After struggling to get out of the first,
Doubront did a fine job mixing up his pitches and lowering his ERA. Doubront finished the day giving up 2 earned runs, 5 hits and 2 walks. Over the course of his outing he accumulated 7 strikeouts to add to his collection. The one man he struggled getting out today was Nelson Cruz. Batting from the 5th spot ,Cruz had RBIs in both the 1st and 6th.
The Red Sox got their runs off the bats of Ortiz, Napoli, Holtz and Herrera. After having last night off, Papi hit a single shot just inside Pesky Pole during the 4th. Holt hit the go-ahead run during the bottom of the seventh when he hit a first pitch triple to centerfield to drive in Mike Carp.

After coming in with one out left in the seventh, Tazawa would get credit for the win. Uehara would get his 4th save of the season after facing 4 batters. Uehara uncharacteristically gave up a walk to start off the ninth. He then collected 3 straight strikeouts (all swinging) to even the series.
