Upon the Bruins season coming to a sad conclusion, I was really hoping that the Red Sox would get out of their funk since they would now be pretty much the only game in town for a few months. Having won 6 straight, I think the ship may be righted.
If you are still waking up from your Stanley Cup playoff hangover, let me be the one to tell you that the Red Sox are in the midst of a 6 game winning streak. At exactly 6 games over .500, the Sox have managed to move within 5.5 games of the AL East leading Yankees. While that is only good for 3rd at the moment, the Yankees do have 2 games against the Rays before welcoming the Astros to town for a 4 games series.
Because I like to look at numbers, here's a quick comparison of last year's sizable winning streaks to this year's.
