A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS' RECENT WOES IN MIAMI

The Patriots have lost 5 of the last 6 times they've played in Miami.  Here's a quick look at each game.
December 9, 2018- 34-33- Since the final play of that game is pretty much ingrained into all of our brains, this one will have the least information.  While the Patriots should have won a tight conference matchup, they didn't because they all assumed someone else was going to make a tackle.  Neither his coaches nor his teammates should have left Gronk in that game saving situation.  Prior to that the Patriots offense also neglected to punch it in from the 7 yard line and instead settled for a field goal.  The weather that December day was 80 degrees and felt like 88 with the Miami humidity.  Throw on some pads and I'm sure it felt a lot worse.
December 11, 2017- 27-20- It was a Monday Night Football game.  The temperature was a crisp for Miami standards at 56 degrees. Tom Brady was picked off on the third play of the game.  The Patriots didn't convert on any 3rd downs.  Brady was intercepted twice, sacked twice and hit 5 times.  The Patriots were without Gronk as he was serving a one game suspension for his WWE move earlier in the season.  The Patriots ground game was non-existent as they had a total of 25 yards rushing.

January 3, 2016- 20-10- This was a pretty typical last game of the season combined with hot and humid 80 degree temperatures.  The Patriots tried to run early and often as 16 of their first 18 plays from scrimmage were on the ground.  New England was without Edelman as he was sidelined after having foot surgery.  This was also the season of the phantom offensive pass interference calls on Gronk.

September 7, 2014- 33-20- This one was a doozy with a kickoff temperature 89 and "feels like" temperature of 100.  It would be the Pats first opening game loss since 2003.  The game started with a 3 and out possession by the Patriots.  That miserable offensive start was quickly followed by a blocked punt.  A Miami touchdown was soon to follow.  The new-look Dolphins' offense had 5 new offensive line-man and former Bronco star Knowshon Moreno running behind them.  Moreno finished the game with 24 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown.  The Patriots did hit the century mark with penalty yards, never a good thing.  When it came to converting 3rd downs the Pats were a miserable 5 for 17.

December 15, 2013- 24-20- Who doesn't like leaving cold New England for a weekend in balmy Miami?  This December game had a game-time temperature of 85, with humidity it felt like 90.  Gronk was not available for the fun down in Miami as he tore his ACL the week before.  Nate Solder was out for the second half as he sat with a head injury.  New England really struggled in the red zone as they went 1 for 4.  With the lead and 4 minutes left to play, Gostkowski kicked a ball out of bounds giving the Dolphins impeccable field position.  The Dolphins scored the go ahead, but left enough time on the clock for the Patriots to march down the field and do their thing.  Only the Patriots didn't do their thing.  Instead they got the ball to the Dolphins 14 before Brady threw a game ending interception in the endzone.  It is also worth noting that Gostkowski missed a field goal to start the second half.
