A LIT LOOK AT BLOUNT'S CONTRACT SITUATION

So once again Belichick has pissed people off by using rules to the Patriots' advantage.

This time he offered running back LeGarrette Blount a contract one day before teams would be able to sign Blount without having to forfeit a compensatory pick.

So far the takes on this move are:

• ​Belichick is brilliant
• Belichick is being a jerk to Blount by denying him a better deal from a competitor

My original take on this topic is that Blount is getting a cool little benefit by this masterful play by Bill.
As far as I can tell, by not being under contract with anyone, Blount is not susceptible to the NFL's long arms of the law. In other words, no contract, no pee test.

I hope LeGarrette is enjoying this little perk and returns to the Patriots on July 22nd. With recreational marijuana now legal in Massachusetts and Kraft's ring party supposedly on tap for June 9th.....
