The Bruins used a 4 goal 3rd period against Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers to take their winning streak to 5 games.  With this win the Bruins finished off a 5 game season sweep of the Panthers and a 9 game sweep of the NHL teams from Florida.  The win also extends the Bruins 10 game streak of getting at least one point while on the road (7-0-3).
Andrej Meszaros would play his first game as a member of the Bruins.  After having a shaky first shift, Meszaros would settle down and play a pretty solid game.  He would send the first puck of the evening by Luongo at the halfway mark of the second period to knot the game 1-1.  The goal came during a powerplay which resulted from the Panthers having an extra man (team) on the ice.

The Bruins would take the lead during the 3rd period on a Torey Krug backhand shot which came off a beautiful pass from Marchand.  After assisting on the first two goals of the game, Patrice Bergeron would get one of his own to put the Bruins up 3-1.

Within the next 50 seconds of play the Panthers and Bruins would trade goals to make the score 4-2 with under eight minutes left in the game.  The Bruins final goal of the day would be an open net shot by Chris Kelly.

The Bruins out shot the Panthers by 20 shots (42-22).  While the rest of the statistics were pretty even, the Bruins were strong on the power play.  In addition to denying the Panthers on all 4 of their power plays, the Bruins scored goals during 2 of their 4 opportunities.

Being the second day of a back to back, Chad Johnson was in net for the Bruins.  With the win, Chad has been in net for 13 of the Bruins' victories this season and has a 2.22 GAA (goals against average).  Johnson doesn't have enough games to be ranked against other goalies, but if he did, he would currently be tied for 9th.

As of now the Bruins are 1 point ahead of Pittsburgh in the East and have played 1 more game than the Penguins.
