For the time being, I think it is in the best interest of the Patriots to simplify their offense. At the very least they need to make the job of the offensive linemen as straightforward as possible.
Why do I say that? Well for one, the Patriots' offensive line is struggling. I think they will have a lot more success if their roles are more defined. Currently we have offensive lineman switching positions on a weekly basis. With that being the case, it is unrealistic to think that the team can effectively run a complicated offense. As everyone knows, you are only as strong as your weakest link. With the Patriots shuffling guys around they are bound to have several snaps where someone doesn't "do their job". This one weak link may be the difference between a touchdown and a sack.
Heading into Arrowhead this week is definitely the time to run a simplified offense. In my opinion Brady really needs to stick with the play that is called and not try to change it at the line of scrimmage. While trying to change a play at the line of scrimmage in Kansas City is never a good idea, at this point in the season it would be beyond stupid for the Patriots to try.
The other thing the Patriots need to do is run plays until the defense proves they can stop them. Moreover, there really isn't a need to get everyone involved in the offense if it puts the game on at risk. Let's face it the most important thing that the Patriots need is wins. Until home field advantage is locked up, they can get guys involved during practice.
