Monday night it appeared the Red Sox trip to Toronto might be a good one. With one out left in the fourth game of the series it appears that we were very wrong.
18 hits and 14 runs. It wasn't too long ago when it might take the Red Sox 2 weeks to accumulate that much offense. Just so you don't think I've completely lost my mind on the issue, I want to start out by saying that although I like where the Red Sox currently are, I don't "love it". I would love it if they were 15 or more games up on the entire AL and were playing well yet still had something left to give. Obviously, that is not the case here as the Red Sox are 9.5 games down in the AL East. So, how can a die hard Sox fan like this? Let me tell you.
Today the Red Sox undid one of the curious moves they made during the off-season. After having signed veteran catcher AJ Pierzynski to a one year deal to allow Christian Vazquez another year to mature, the Red Sox have decided the time is now for the 23 year old to join the big boys.
